Have you have you ever accidentally deleted or lost a part of a project that you had been working on all day! We know that some of you have, because we occasional get a ‘panic call’ for help. What a lot of AscentialTest users don’t know is that AscentialTest automatically stores backups of the last ten versions of each of the files in the DataStore, Plans, Project Library and Suites folders.

Look for the _backup_ folder in each of those project sub-folders.

Each of the saved files has a date/time stamp appended to the file name to make it easy to select the right backup. To restore a previous copy of a file:

• Copy the backup file to the folder where the current copy resides
• Add the backup file to the AscentialTest project using the appropriate ‘Add Existing …’ from the Project Explorer
• Ignore compile errors which will result from duplicates
• Copy the section that you would like to restore from the backup to the current copy
• Remove the backup file from the project
