Depending on your application and your UAC settings, it may be necessary to invoke UA Server as Administrator. If you are unable to successfully capture a snapshot for your application or receive runtime errors when running scripts, dismiss UA Server, run it as Administrator and try the unsuccessful operation again. If your issue is resolved, you should update the privilege level to always run UA Server as Administrator. Access the Properties dialog by right-clicking on the UA Server executable in File Manager and selecting Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and check the box ‘Run this program as administrator’. If problems are still encountered, turn off UAC, reboot your computer and attempt the operation again.

As an addition to this, we found that you may also need to run the browser as Administrator. Snapshots weren’t working for us until we tried it.
For me, I set both AscentialTest and UA Server to run as Administrator. Prior to that, UA server wasn’t able to start automatically when AT was started up.

As a rule, when I’m having issues with a Windows 7 machine I set AscentialTest.exe, ATRun.exe and TestRunner.exe to run as Administrator just to be safe.
